   Coby Waddill was born in Abilene, Texas. He has been practicing law for almost 10 years. Coby moved to Denton, Texas in 1976, graduating from Denton High School, and became a permanent local resident.

  
Coby attended the University of North Texas and received his Bachelors in Criminal Justice in 1994 while working at the Denton State School.  He then went on to achieve his Juris Doctorate at St. Mary’s University. During law school, Coby was involved in the Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions and the Criminal Justice Clinic.  He graduated law school in 1999.

  
After graduation, Coby worked in Abilene, Texas at the Wagstaff Law Firm developing a criminal defense practice and serving as the municipal prosecutor for the City of Eastland, Texas.

  
In December 2000 Coby returned to Denton to work for a local law firm.  Coby has since then been busy involving himself in many local clubs and organizations, including:
  • Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Assoc.-1999-Present
  • President of Denton County Criminal Defense Lawyers Assoc.-2004, 2005
  • Graduate Leadership Denton 2003
  • College of the State Bar of Texas 2005-present
  • Pro Bono College 2005-present
  • Chair, Board of Trustees Denton Co. MHMR-2006-present
  • Charter Member, UNT Legal Eagles Advisory Board- 2007-present.

   Coby earned his Criminal Law Certification from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2005.

  
Coby is also a volunteer for the Denton Humane Society and is an active civic member in Denton.
 
  
Coby and his wife Kelly married in 2003.  They live in Denton and share their home with several furry four-legged children.
